About Me

Witry Collective

New Orleans has finally hit its stride after years of economic recovery and community redevelopment. Consumer confidence is high and as a result, housing inventory is low and prices have risen. In response to the current marketplace, I have formed a group with two of my colleagues called the Witry Collective that works under our brokerage, Gardner Realtors. Adrienne LaBauve, Josh Walther and I collaborate to provide a personalized real estate experience for each of our clients. We combine our knowledge, personal strengths, and solid business relationships to guide our clients through property transactions. We believe that being immersed in the local marketplace and putting successful systems in place in order to educate our clients are essential to buying or selling a home. As realtors, we have been entrusted with not only helping to achieve the goals of the people we serve, but also preserving the future of our city and its historic neighborhoods. Above all, the Witry Collective represents a commitment to skilled professionalism and a community-minded, value-added approach to real estate.

Katie first visited New Orleans in 1986 for a Superbowl, and she was sold then on the vibrant city. In 1998, she moved permanently and finished her last two years at Loyola University. She graduated with a BA in Sociology with a Women’s Studies Minor. She started the Women’s Issues Organization at Loyola. Her first job outside of college was working for Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program. After five years of working in the immigration and refugees field, she decided to take a different path on resettlement. Her focus turned to helping others with residential acquisitions in historic New Orleans’ neighborhoods.

Katie’s clients and business focus include neighborhood associations, church groups, sellers being relocated outside of New Orleans, renovation and restoration projects, investment acquisitions, and first time buyers looking for an individual that can walk them through all the necessary steps to help make the smartest purchase decision in our local market.

Katie holds several Realtor specific education designations, she is the Vice President of the New Orleans Women’s Council of Realtors, a board member of the Preservation Resource Center, and she has developed a continuing education course with original content, approved by the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.

Katie is a wife, mother of a one and four year old children, a yogi, and has been a vegan for over twenty years. She is a supporter of National Public Radio, Louise S. McGehee School, and her Alma maters Westover School and Loyola University.

In IMOTO photo’s podcast episode 4, Darryl Glade and I chat about my journey in the real estate industry and what the Witry Collective is all about.

About Adrienne

Adrienne LaBauve

I was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. I returned to my birth state in 1998 to attend Louisiana State University. Later, transferring to the University of New Orleans proved to be one of my best decisions and New Orleans immediately felt like home. I loved the culture and energy that this city has to offer. I have always enjoyed traveling and enrolled in UNO’s study abroad program in Costa Rica and also spent four semesters at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. I graduated with a degree in Political Science and International Affairs in 2005.

After college, I worked as a bartender and manager at both Pal’s Lounge in Bayou St. John and One Eyed Jacks in the French Quarter. During that time, I considered the option of law school and began working at a local law firm before meeting Realtor Katie Witry. After a buyer’s session with her, I began to think that realty could be the perfect profession for me. Under her guidance, I obtained my license in June 2012 and I feel so fortunate to have had such an amazing mentor. I gained first-hand knowledge of the market and learned from the best. I am confident that I guide my clients through the process of purchasing or selling with all the knowledge and experience that I have been taught. I take great strides to prepare my clients for their real estate transactions so that they are able to feel prepared and comfortable throughout the process.

I specialize in finding the perfect homes for my buyers and helping my sellers accomplish their sales as quickly and easily as possible with the best end results. I look forward to introducing more of my buyers to the FHA 203K loan product that allows first-time homebuyers and those with a passion for restoration to bring historic homes back to their former glories. I have worked hard to create a team of contractors, plumbers, electricians, and project managers to assist my clients with the process of restoring and updating a home.

It is my priority to get to know my clients on a personal level and help them achieve their goals of buying or selling a property. I strive to be readily available to answer all of their questions and educate them about every step of their real estate transaction. I feel a great sense of gratification knowing that my clients trust me to guide them through such a significant financial milestone.

About Josh

Josh Walther

Like many other transplants of this city, it didn’t take long for me to realize that there is something about New Orleans that makes it easy to call “home.” I am a native of the Northeast, but after twelve years of living here, I am a New Orleanian at heart. I was born and raised in Princeton, New Jersey. At a young age, I developed an interest in architecture. I was inspired by the colonial homes of my surrounding neighborhoods and by the Collegiate Gothic style of Princeton University.

After graduation from high school, I committed myself to professional horse training and spent many years representing the United States Equestrian Team all around the world. The physicality that was required took a toll of my body and in 2001, I was forced to give up my career after undergoing back surgery. I took the opportunity to travel to Europe and ultimately moved to Rome, Italy. My passion for architecture was reignited and I felt like I had a new lease on life after returning to the United States in 2002. I sold my home in Virginia and moved to New Orleans, what I consider to be the most European city in the US.

I enrolled at Tulane University to obtain my undergraduate degree, but Hurricane Katrina hit and I was forced to evacuate. The disaster not only affected New Orleans, but my relationship to it. I felt a great commitment to my surrogate city and decided to help others regain their lives by becoming a licensed Realtor. My life and career were enriched by the opportunity to help residents reclaim and rebuild the place that they call home. In 2008, I tapped into my creative side and became an accredited home stager.

Presently, I am an active supporter of the Preservation Resource Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the historic neighborhoods of New Orleans. I have chaired the Shotgun House Tour and I am currently a committee member of the Great Neighborhood SELLabration. My client base includes homebuyers and sellers alike. I find great satisfaction in being part of making my clients’ goals a reality, whether they are becoming first-time homeowners or selling the house that their family has outgrown. I feel that the service I offer not only benefits the individuals and couples I work with, but also the growth and revitalization of New Orleans.

About Darrin

Darrin Duplissey

Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Darrin is the oldest of eight children. Growing up around the real estate industry with both his father and grandfather working as builders and developers in Las Vegas nurtured a desire to follow in his family’s footsteps and to pursue a career in real estate.

Beginning his real estate career in New Orleans when his family began buying investment property in 2007, he was asked to represent them as their agent. Darrin and a colleague then formed Go Zone Realty. Together they spent the next several years buying and rehabbing property. At the same time Darrin formed a property management component of the business. Darrin partnered with several different property management companies managing units ranging from above market rate housing to subsidized housing across the greater metro New Orleans area.

In early 2010, Darrin along with his partner Robbie, were offered a once in a life time chance to work overseas with partnership in a company that provided basic life services to the U.S. Army and defense contractors in Basra, Iraq. Several of the contracts included property management on the U.S. Army base in Basra as it was being downsized. He also worked on several large projects in the Ramallah oil field providing project management on building small communities, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and building specifications for the Mott McDonald Group and BP & Shell Oil.

In the spring of 2011 Darrin returned to the United States and began working with the French Market Corporation, which manages City of New Orleans owned property. As the Director of Property Management he managed 50 residential units and 52 commercial spaces overseeing some of the most iconic real estate in the city of New Orleans; including Cafe Du Monde, Washington Artillery Park, the Farmers Market and the Upper Pontalba Building on Jackson Square.

In the summer of 2015 Darrin returned to his love of working with buyers and sellers and joined Gardner Realtors. After completing the Witry Collective mentoring program in 2016, Darrin is now a full time member of the Witry Collective. Darrin has worked in residential real estate now for eleven years in all aspects of the industry, including buying, selling, development and property management. Darrin lives in Mid-City with his fiance, Robbie Gurtner and their Great Dane, Sophia. In his free time Darrin enjoys reading, cooking and delving into the history and culture of New Orleans.

Darrin’s volunteer experience includes:

Past Director, Tri County Tourism Board of Upstate New York
