The neighborhood of Black Pearl is a subdistrict of the Uptown/Carrolton Area of New Orleans with neighborhood boundaries that used to be the town of Carrollton, Louisiana in the Nineteen Century. Sitting on higher ground along the Mississippi River, this area escaped the flooding that took place during Hurricane Katrina.
