Progress Thermometer

The rate of homeless women is up an alarming 66% since 2012. Currently, the New Orleans Mission is having to painstakingly turn women away on a nightly basis due to lack of room.

We believe everyone should have a place to call home which is why we are calling the community to join with us in helping the New Orleans Mission expand their Women’s Center from 16 beds to 38 beds, and to add a full-time women’s therapist, which will provide a safe place exclusively for women within its current facility on Baronne Street in Central City.

We have set the goal to raise $300,000 and we need your help to make it to the finish line.  To learn more about the New Orleans Mission's services and mission, visit

Let’s join together to give the homeless women of New Orleans and surrounding areas a place to call home and a chance to restore their lives… whether it’s by giving your time, spreading the word, or donating financially.

A Warm Community Response
So far, we have received an overwhelmingly warm response from the community. This pressing issue and our plan to fix it hit all four local news stations (WWL, WDSU, WGNO, WVUE) and was on the front page of today's Times Picayune.

Our Announcement and Call to Action
On November 5th at the "A New Life" luncheon hosted by New Orleans Mission, Crystal Gertrude Gardner-Phillips shared with over 250 local members of the community and businesses the story of Gertrude Gardner, founder of GARDNER REALTORS, who's passion for loving others and giving back, led her to start what would become one of the most successful real estate companies in the world, GARDNER REALTORS, and how her legacy of giving back to our communities carries on within the GARDNER Real Estate Family, 70 years later!

Crystal went on the say, "To close, we encourage you to ask yourselves what we were called to ask ourselves… "If not us, then who?... and if not now, then when?" There simply is no "they" in this world. It's us who God can use to make a difference. By joining together for this greater cause, we enable The New Orleans Mission to offer these hurting homeless women real hope and lasting purpose in their lives. Just like it did in our Real Estate Family through Gertrude's many acts of love, this act of love can carry on for generations to come."
