Realtors Share #GardnerLOVE to Hurricane Harvey Victims

By Crystal Gardner-Phillips | September 5, 2017

In 2005, our neighbors came to our aid when Hurricane Katrina displaced us from our communities. These hospitable friends – and sometimes strangers – opened up their hearts and homes to us. So, when Hurricane Harvey hit, our Realtors didn’t think twice before reaching out about how we could help and show #GardnerLOVE.

Last week, we partnered with John Daugherty Realtors and Heritage Texas Properties to help support and bring relief to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Realtors from all 24 of our offices across New Orleans, Baton Rouge and the Mississippi Gulf Coast donated thousands of items out of the goodness of their hearts. These much-needed relief items included clothes, shoes, socks, linens/towels, toiletries, diapers & baby formula, pet food and encouraging letters to victims and first-responders. So many items were donated, in fact, that we had to get a 25-foot truck! Our very own Chip Gardner then drove that truck to Houston.

Our hearts ache for the residents of Houston because we’ve been there, and we know that hospitable friends and neighbors are usually the ones to help pick up the pieces,” says Gardner. “Real estate professionals can make a huge impact because they know the neighborhoods and have the connections. Providing supplies is one way to help, but real estate professionals can also offer professional counsel and encouragement as thousands in the Houston area prepare to rebuild stronger communities than before.”
